The Office for Youth was established by The Hon. Rose Jackson MLC, Minister for Youth on 1 July 2025.
Led by the Advocate for Children and Young People, the Office for Youth brings together expertise from across New South Wales Government to work in the best interests of children and young people.
The Office for Youth is the central place that ensures young people in New South Wales have a voice and are heard on the big issues that impact them.
We look forward to sharing more information with you soon. While we build the Office for Youth website, please:
The NSW Youth Advisory Council (YAC) plays an important role in advising the NSW Government on issues that are relevant to young people across the state.
The 12 member YAC provides a direct avenue of communication between young people and the NSW Government.
Through the ‘Your Voice, Our Future’ consultation, the NSW Government engaged with over 4,500 young people.
Their message was clear: young people want to be actively involved in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.
